SolarBioproducts Ruhr brings the laboratory into focus. What are microorganisms and where can we find them? How can enzymes facilitate our daily life? And how much energy does an algae have?
MINT-classes (the English equivalent to MINT is STEM: Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics)
Together with the zdi-network MINT Herne, SolarBioproducts Ruhr visits school classes from grade 8 to upper stage in Herne and Bochum and experiments with them within the scope of “microorganisms – our everyday companions”. Here, the pupils may test the cleanness of keyboards, mobiles etc. by means of the so-called “Abklatschtest”, may examine the structure of microalgae through a microscope, investigate the effect of antibiotics and even more.
Do you also want to provide a project course about “microorganisms” at your school? Then please do not hesitate to contact us or the zdi-network MINT Herne.
SolarBioproducts Ruhr also supports individual school projects, like for example the project course Natural Science of the Schiller-School in Bochum, which was promoted by the zdi-network IST.Bochum.NRW. Sbp has a broad portfolio: supervising experiments, researching relevant publications, giving advice to experiments, assisting with the evaluation of results etc. That are just a few examples, how Sbp can support.
