Biotechnology: laying the foundations for future generations

SolarBioproducts took part in the CLIB International Conference (CIC) again this year. The first bioeconomy symposium of the year took place on February 6th & 7th at the Lindner Congress Hotel in Düsseldorf and brought together international experts from all over the world.

On the first day of the conference, the two megatrends of digitization and access to alternative protein sources through biotechnology were taken up to solve the problem of food shortages. Another hot topic, which is of great relevance for the bioeconomy, was also highlighted: the biotechnological use of CO2. The potential benefits of microalgae always came into play for both subject areas, which made the event even more interesting for SolarBioproducts. It was particularly exciting during an interdisciplinary panel discussion, which dealt with the topic of public perception of bioeconomy.
